Dublin Road and the parallel Great Victoria Street are famous as The Golden Mile of restaurants, galleries, entertainment venues and pubs taking you to the lively nightlife quarter around Shaftesbury Square, Botanic Avenue, Lower Mahone, Lisbum Road and Stranmillis. At the other side of the city centre, the Cathedral Quarter is taking off as a focus of youth culture.

Head for the majestic Ulster Museum, the great treasurehouse of Irish art and artefacts in the superb setting of Botanic Gardens. Warm up in the Palm House and Tropical Ravine. Follow your nose in summer to the International Rose Garden at Dixon Park or in spring, go to see the thousands of daffodils at Barnett Demesne in west Belfast Colin Glen Forest Park is one of the great green spaces. Culturlann Macadam O Fiaich on the Falls Road is the main Belfast Irish language arts centre. At the top of the Shankill district, the British side of Belfast cultural diversity is celebrated at Fernhill House: The People’s Museum. Most visitors go to west Belfast for the unique political murals; its best to take a Guided Tour.

In east Belfast, Victoria Park has flocks of swans, geese and herons. Streamvale Open Farm is a must, easily combined with a visit to nearby Dundonald lnternational Ice Bowl which also has top-class bowlinq and adventure play. The most famous Iandrrsark here is Stormont Parliament Buildings.

In north Belfast at Cave Hill Country Park you will enjoy the best panoramic views of the cityscape and countryside from the garden of Belfast Castle, Belfast Zoo, is worth a whole day visit ro itself.
